La Liga Initiates Investigation into Alleged Racial Abuse of Vinicius Jr. by Child in Valencia Clash

La Liga has launched an investigation after a child was filmed allegedly making a racist comment towards Vinicius Jr during Real Madrid’s 2-2 draw with Valencia, as reported by ESPN Brazil.

Despite being two goals down, Real Madrid, currently leading the league in Spain this season, secured a point at Valencia’s Mestalla Stadium, with Vinicius scoring twice in the intense match on Saturday.

Despite England’s Jude Bellingham appearing to secure a last-minute victory, referee Jesus Gil Manzano had already blown the whistle for full-time, leading to Bellingham’s frustration and subsequent red card for expressing displeasure with explicit language.

Vinicius returned to Mestalla for the first time since May, when he endured severe racial abuse – the tenth reported incident against him last season.

Unfortunately, history seems to have repeated itself this weekend, as a video shared by ESPN Brazil allegedly shows a young child hurling a racial slur, calling Vinicius a ‘monkey’ during Saturday’s match. The person who recorded the incident reportedly confirmed that police were involved during the game, and La Liga has initiated an investigation into the footage.
