Mide Funmi Martins, a Nigerian actress, producer, and director, has the late Funmi Martins as her mother, who was a veteran actress in Nigeria.

Born on April 12, 1979, in Lagos State, Nigeria, Mide Martins is an actress known for her dynamic roles and action-packed performances.

Funmi Oguntomi Martins, the mother of Mide Funmi Martins, was born in September in Ilesa, Osun State, located in the southwestern part of Nigeria. She spent her early years in Lagos and Ibadan before eventually settling in Lagos to wholeheartedly pursue her acting aspirations.

In 1993, Funmi made a complete transition into acting after leaving behind her previous career in modeling. It was during this year that she made her debut in the movie “Nemesis,” a film that caught the attention of Fidelis Duker. Tragically, on May 6, 2002, Mide Martins experienced the loss of her mother, who passed away at the age of 38 in the Oshuntuyi Medical Hospital in Lagos. According to medical reports, her untimely demise was attributed to cardiac arrest, which was a result of her pre-existing rheumatic heart disease.

Prior to her passing, Funmi had been involved in the production of the movie “Aduro Ti Oluwa,” which was completed two weeks before her death.

The day before her unfortunate demise, which occurred on May 5, 2002, Funmi started feeling unwell while at her residence in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos. Suddenly experiencing dizziness, she was promptly rushed to a hospital in Iju for medical attention.

After a period of time, she appeared to have recovered and even had the ability to breastfeed her youngest child, whom she was nursing at the time. Unfortunately, it was during this period that the second, tragic incident occurred.
