Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda caused a stir on social media by declining a portrait of his late friend Mohbad and Mohbad’s son.
In a circulating online video, during a performance on an elevated stage amidst a large crowd, a fan presented Bella Shmurda with a picture portrait of Mohbad and his son, Liam.
Inviting the fan on stage, Bella Shmurda inspected the picture frame but ultimately refused to accept the gift, making his decision known through the microphone.
Bella began by thanking God for life and asking for Mohbad’s tranquility before announcing that the artist who brought the picture frame would also be the one to return it because he couldn’t fit the image in his house. He did, however, offer the fan a substantial prize.
He stated in Yoruba: “You that brought this picture will be the same person to take it back because I can’t put this in my house, but I will give you money.”
